Event targeting uses geofencing technology to capture the mobile device IDs of people who attended a specific event. We draw a virtual boundary around the event location during the event time, then serve ads to those attendees for up to 30 days afterward.
Think of it as building a custom audience from real-world behavior — not demographics or guesses, but actual attendance.
Standard Geofencing: Ongoing targeting at a location (like a competitor's store). Captures anyone who visits, anytime.
Event Targeting: Time-bound targeting at a location during a specific event. Captures only attendees of that event.
Both use the same underlying technology. Event targeting just adds the time dimension.
Trade shows and conferences Attended a home show? Serve ads for your remodeling company. Went to an auto expo? Target them for your dealership.
Sporting events Reach fans who attended games at a specific stadium. Great for sports apparel, restaurants near venues, or sports betting (where legal).
Concerts and festivals Build audiences based on music taste by targeting specific concert attendees.
Community events Farmers markets, street fairs, charity runs — reach engaged local audiences.
Competitor events Your competitor hosting a grand opening or customer appreciation event? Target those attendees.

After capturing event attendees, we can serve ads across:

| Phase | What Happens |
|---|---|
| During event | We capture device IDs of attendees within the geofenced area |
| 0-30 days after | Ads served to captured devices across all channels |
| Optional extension | Can extend targeting window for larger campaigns |
Most campaigns see best performance in the first 7-14 days post-event while the experience is fresh.
Give us at least 48 hours notice to set up the geofence before the event starts.
Event details we need:
Best practice: Event targeting works best when combined with other tactics like geofencing, display, or addressable. We don't recommend running it as a standalone campaign.
Step 1: Identify Events Tell us which events you want to target — upcoming or past.
Step 2: We Build the Fence We set up precise geofencing around the venue with the event time window.
Step 3: Capture Attendees During the event, we collect device IDs of people present.
Step 4: Serve Ads Your ads reach those attendees across display, mobile, video, and streaming TV.
Step 5: Measure Results Track impressions, clicks, conversions, and even return visits to your location.
