Bridging foot traffic and e-commerce: digital growth for high street boutiques

Posted on August 5, 2026

A shop on a commercial avenue puts you in front of buyers every day. People walk in, touch the fabric, and buy on the spot. Then you lock up at six and all of it stops. The couple who admired your window at nine on a Saturday keeps walking. The customer who bought a dress in March means to come back and never quite gets around to it.

You do not have to pick between a physical storefront and a digital one. The boutiques growing fastest run both at once: advertising to shoppers within a few miles of the front door while shipping orders three states away.

Full Force Ads runs both sides of that from one dashboard.

What foot traffic alone cannot do

Prime retail space buys you impressions from everyone who walks or drives past. It is expensive, and on its own it leaves gaps.

You cannot follow up with window shoppers. Someone stops, looks, and leaves, and you have no way to reach her again.

Your reach ends a few blocks out. A shopper three miles away might love your inventory and has no idea you exist.

Attention on the sidewalk is thin. People are looking at their phones, running late, or heading to the store next door.

Revenue swings for reasons you do not control. Rain, a slow season, or road work outside the door will take a bite out of the week.

Boosting a post on social with a broad location setting does not fix any of this. You pay to reach people who will never drive to your neighborhood. Local retail needs targeting that gets narrower than a city name.

The channels

Managing three vendors and four logins is its own part time job. Full Force Ads runs every channel below from one place.

Streaming TV

Your commercial runs on Hulu, Roku, Fire TV, Peacock, and YouTube TV. You pick households by income, location, or shopping behavior instead of paying for every impression in the market.

Digital video and audio

Pre roll video puts your brand on news and media sites before the content people came for. Audio ads reach the same shoppers on Spotify, Pandora, and podcasts while they drive, work out, or run errands.

Mobile

Banner ads and location based promotions go straight to phones. This is the channel that turns someone browsing on the couch into someone walking through your door.

Display

Banners on news and lifestyle sites keep the shop in front of people between visits. Use them for a featured piece, a current promotion, or a link back to your site.

Native

Native ads take on the look of the style blog or magazine page they sit on. Because they read like part of the publication, they get clicked more often than a standard banner does.

Targeting

The channel decides where your ad shows up. The targeting decides who sees it, and that is where most retail ad budgets are won or lost.

MethodWhat it does for a fashion retailer
GeofencingReaches phones inside competitor locations and shopping districts
AddressableSends ads to specific street addresses, such as a VIP client list
Search retargetingReaches people searching "boutique denim" or "dresses near me"
Site retargetingBrings back visitors who left something sitting in the cart
ContextualPlaces ads beside articles on fashion trends and local lifestyle

Building-level geofencing

Most ad platforms draw a radius around a pin, which sweeps in a highway, an office park, and a few hundred houses you have no interest in. Building level geofencing traces the actual outline of a location: the boutique two streets over, the hotel and salon and restaurant nearby, the convention center during a fashion show or lifestyle expo, the mall on the edge of town.

When a shopper crosses into one of those shapes, her phone becomes eligible for your ads, both while she is in the area and for the following 30 days.

Addressable household targeting

Upload street addresses, whether from your own client list or from neighborhoods you want to break into. The system matches those addresses to the connected devices inside each home and delivers Streaming TV and display ads there.

Search retargeting

Someone searches for the kind of thing you sell. Your display and video ads follow that search across the web while the intent is still fresh.

Site retargeting

A visitor browses your online store, adds a jacket, and closes the tab. Site retargeting puts that same jacket back in front of her with a way to finish the order.

Contextual targeting

Your ads sit next to content the reader already chose: seasonal trend pieces, styling advice, local shopping guides.

A growth plan in three phases

Phase 1: fill the store

Start with the shoppers already moving through your part of town. Geofence the competing boutiques, restaurants, and gyms within about five miles, then run mobile and native placements against them with something worth acting on today: "Downtown this afternoon? Show this ad at [Boutique Name] for 15% off." A conversion zone around your own front door counts how many of the people who saw the ad actually walked in.

Phase 2: sell past your zip code

Now widen it. Target by age, income, and shopping interest across the state or the country, and layer search retargeting on top so you catch the people already looking. Streaming TV, digital video, and audio carry the seasonal collection. Point viewers at your online store and be specific about shipping. Then, within 48 hours of the TV spot, follow the same household with banners on their phones and laptops so the ad is not a one time event.

Phase 3: keep the customers you already have

Repeat buyers cost less than new ones. Run addressable ads against your CRM list and site retargeting against abandoned carts, using display, native, and mobile web. Give people an actual reason to come back: free gift wrapping on the cart she left behind, or first look at new inventory for anyone who has bought in store.

Retail budgets move with the seasons, and the ad spend should move with them. No annual commitment locks you into a number you picked in February.

Conversion zone tracking logs the foot traffic, so you can see how many ad exposed shoppers came through the door rather than guessing at it.

Campaigns go live in five to seven business days, which means a new collection can have advertising behind it while it is still new.

Getting started

  1. Talk through your goals, your customers, your location, and what you need the store to do in revenue.
  2. Get back a channel mix and targeting plan built for your market, not a template.
  3. Launch with creative you already have, or with assets we build. Live in five to seven business days.
  4. Ads adjust on live performance from there, and you get a weekly report on visits and sales.

Local targeting to fill the store, national reach to fill the online orders. Book a demo and we will map out what that looks like in your market.
